Restorative yoga is the practice of actively resting. It is based on the lack of physical effort to allow the body to re-align itself physically, energetically and emotionally, shifting the nervous system back towards balance.
If you are feeling drained, you can't easily move due to restrictions in the body or illness, or if you feel your mind is going fast and you crave for slowing it down, come along to experience a moment of pause.
"I'm not a regular or experienced yoga practitioner but the idea of learning about active resting really appealed to me. This class opened my eyes to the difference between the passive resting we tend to engage in when we slump on the settee after a hard day, and a more intentional form of resting that involves taking care to position one's body in ways that are truly relaxing and beneficial.
Flavia's class was small and welcoming. She gave excellent instructions and was on hand to help with any tricky poses. After the class I felt so relaxed I had the best night's sleep I'd had in a long time. I'd really recommend others give it a try!"
